Latino News Network and El Tri Online announce content partnership to tackle demand for Mexican soccer in United States

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 1, 2021

The Latino News Network and El Tri Online are pleased to announce a new partnership that celebrates the passion of Hispanic-Latino fans.

The collaboration between LNN and ETO will give greater visibility to news coverage and storytelling where sport and culture meet. The alliance will create significant exposure to the northeast region of Mexican soccer and latino soccer athletes to an area that lacks this much needed coverage. After all, Liga MX continues to be the most watched soccer league in the United States, with a total TV audience of nearly 200 million more than MLS.

Joe Rodriguez, Head of Content for El Tri Online, formulated, “It’s no secret that love continues to grow for the sport and the visibility rate of Liga MX in CONCACAF. Although there is a division between teams, we believe the sport is a great unifier, especially for our Latino fans who, until ETO, didn’t have a platform dedicated to Mexican soccer storytelling by Latinos for Latinos in topics that are dear to our hearts. We’re excited to connect with LNN community members in new and exciting ways.”

While a relatively young digital media company, ETO has made enormous strides in making a name for itself in a short period. As its name indicates, El Tri Online focuses on Mexican National team and Mexican Soccer. Unlike other sports media, ETO goes beyond statistics, and into the heart, culture, and passion for the game, by its players and fans.

The content is presented mainly in English or Spanglish, reflecting most US Hispanics, an underserved audience on all media platforms. As the only English language, news, information and entertainment outlets dedicated to Hispanics / Latinos in New England, LNN shares ETO’s mission.

LNN’s publisher and executive editor Hugo Balta shares the enthusiasm for the partnership. “El Tri Online’s dynamic and creative storytelling has helped its growth rate tremendously. You do not achieve this feat without creating content that is inclusive and reflects Hispanic / Latin American experience in the U.S. These cultural nuances are extraordinary, and we are excited to work with a team that “gets it” like ETO. “

The partnership will emphasize ETO content that goes beyond storied soccer franchises and includes Latino and Hispanic stars who are increasingly in the spotlight. For ETO’s most recent interview with Club América legend Luis Roberto Alves “Zague”, visit here
