FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — October 2, 2026 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) —The 2026 Adriana Bianco Argentine–Latino Film & Art Festival concluded on a high note at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), celebrating a historic quarter-century milestone as a premier cultural bridge connecting Latin America and the United States.

Under the overall direction and curation of award-winning Argentine actress Adriana Bianco — recipient of the prestigious Cóndor de Plata award and affectionately known as the “Shirley Temple of the Southern Cone” — the festival hosted free screenings with complimentary coffee for the community every Sunday in September at the Don Taft University Center Performance Theater.

The curated film lineup featured prominent international productions with English subtitles and introductory commentary led by Bianco:

  • September 6: Mi Mundial – A Tribute to Soccer (Uruguay, dir. Carlos Morelli)
  • September 13: Broche de Oro – Beginnings (Puerto Rico, dir. Raúl Marchand Sánchez)
  • September 20: Sucre (Venezuela, dir. Alidha Ávila) along with the short film Damas de Medianoche (dir. Diego Cowks, 2025)
  • September 27: Un Amor de Borges (Argentina, dir. Javier Torre)

The closing ceremony gathered key diplomatic, literary, and institutional figures, including the Consul of Uruguay in Miami, María Virginia Toledo, alongside representatives from the Consulate General of Uruguay; Dr. Elena Ortega-Tauler, who presented her book Estate Planning in Florida; journalist Nancy Clara, who presented her book Step by Step: How to Do Business with the U.S. alongside Hispanic Target Magazine; and Judith Croker, editor of En USA Newspaper. Institutional support was provided by the NSU Alvin Sherman Library, the Spanish Cultural Center in Miami (CCEmiami), the North American Academy of the Spanish Language (ANLE), and the Broward County Cultural Division.

Embracing its signature Film & Art concept, the festival also presented two fine arts exhibitions: "Tribute to Uruguayan Artist José Gamarra" and "Tribute to Jorge Luis Borges", both curated by Bianco at the Rosella Gallery.

Founded 25 years ago, the festival has become an essential academic and cultural beacon in South Florida. In 2025, NSU dedicated a permanent archival space within its library to honor Bianco’s legacy, making her the first Argentine actress to receive such a distinction.

The 2026 edition achieved extensive press coverage in En USA Newspaper, Nagari Magazine, NSU Newsroom, and Hispanic Target Magazine, while generating vibrant social media engagement throughout its galleries and opening events.

"This festival represents memory, identity, and future," stated Adriana Bianco. Consul María Virginia Toledo highlighted "the priceless value of culture as an unbreakable bond between nations" and congratulated Bianco for her tireless 25-year dedication to promoting Hispanic cinema in the United States. Dr. Elena Ortega-Tauler expressed her gratitude for the invitation and urged the public to keep supporting cultural initiatives.

The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to the audience and formally announced the upcoming 2027 edition.
